Stand Tall and Proud

No matter if you are 6'5" or 5'l", having a good posture changes the way you walk, look and appear to other people.

Perhaps more importantly, it changes the way you feel about yourself, and is proven to contribute to overall confidence.

As we age, sadly gravity exercises its pull and we may become stooped and lose height. This may be due to a lifetime of bad habits and general postural laziness, or as a result of a sedentary lifestyle hunched over a computer. Often, it is simply the natural process of ageing. The good news is that with the right mental attitude and awareness, it is never too late to stand tall. Not only will it take years off your perceived age, it will also increase your energy levels as it improves the functions of your internal organs. This is especially true of the lungs, which in turn increase your oxygen intake.

Those famed 50's models, who walked around with books on their heads, certainly had the right idea. So…

Stand tall, chin up, (remember that book poised on your head), and pull those 'lats', the major back muscles, down towards your bottom. Tighten those abs and squeeze and pull up the pelvic floor – you should feel like you're wearing a tight corset. Push your shoulders back and smile: instant makeover

Whether walking, standing or sitting, this will take years off you, conveying an air of confidence even if you are having a particularly bad hair day!

Hugs..!  Susie
